JARVIS GUIDE
Lawyer Mode
This section will include:
Overview of Lawyer Mode
If a claim enters litigation, a Claims Professional can enable Lawyer Mode to turn off the 2-way communication features of Jarvis, to help ensure that all claim communication goes through the Injured Worker’s attorney.
Feature Details:
- Jarvis deactivates messaging, document exchange, appointments, and Jarvis check-in questions to ensure all future communication goes through the lawyer
- Jarvis sends the Injured Worker a notification that Lawyer Mode has been enabled to warn them of these feature changes
- In the Claims Professional platform, Jarvis adds an alert banner to the Injured Worker’s detail and claim pages
- Claims Professionals and Injured Workers can both still view the full claim history, including messages and documents, even when Lawyer Mode is active
How to: Enable Lawyer Mode
As a Claims Professional, please follow these steps to alert Jarvis that an Injured Worker has an attorney:
- Go to My Injured Workers tab or Add Injured Worker tab & use the search bar to find the Injured Worker.
- Click on the Injured Worker to access the Injured Worker’s Profile.
- Click on the Claim Number to access the Claim Profile.
- Click Enable Lawyer Mode.
- Click Yes, a lawyer has been added. - Lawyer Mode sends an alert to the Injured Worker and changes their Jarvis settings, so it’s important not to turn it on by accident

- See that the legal status has changed to “Lawyer Retained” and an orange banner appears stating, “There is a lawyer assigned to this claim”
Note: the Injured Worker will receive a notification that a lawyer has been assigned and their Jarvis features will change.
How to: Disable Lawyer Mode
In the case an Injured Worker is no longer represented, or if there was an error, a Claims Professional can restore an Injured Worker’s account to standard settings by following the below steps:
- Go to the Injured Worker’s claim that has been litigated
- Click Disable Lawyer Mode
- Click Yes, the lawyer is no longer active - We double-check that you intended to disable lawyer mode to minimize confusion for the Injured Worker.

- See that the legal status has changed to “No active lawyer” and the orange banner disappears.
Note: all interactive features will turn on for Claims Professionals and the Injured Worker.
